I’ve been involved with WIN for some time now, and feel that it’s only right to bring this relationship to the next level. It’s time for me to give back a little more, and to grow professionally and as an activist. It’s time for me to run – for Communications Director.
Will you join me?
If you don’t know about WIN, you’re missing out. It’s the Women’s Information Network, for pro-choice, Democratic women in the D.C. area, and it’s one of my favorite things about the city. If you want to plug in professionally or socially, if you want to know what’s going on in progressive politics, or if you just want your resume reviewed, WIN is the place to be.
I’ve served as the Writing Group co-chair for the last two years, and loved every minute of it. Not only did I gain experience with leadership, but my writing improved as well. I’ve been published! I also learned how to communicate effectively not just for myself, but for the Writing Group and for WIN. Beyond that, I also had the opportunity to serve as a Senior Network Chair this past year and was able to share my experience with other network chairs, which I really enjoyed. It seems only right that I take these communications and leadership skills that WIN opened up to me, and give them back.
You won’t see my candidate statement on the WIN site, but you can find out about me here on my blog, and on Facebook.
